We recently met with the owner of one of our restaurant clients—Sweet Nectar–to chat about marketing.

They were looking to attract a young, hip crowd to their eatery, and we were excited to help them achieve their goal.

A Striking Idea

We put our heads together to brainstorm ideas for a fun and interesting promotion to attract Sweet Nectar’s ideal customer. We tossed around a few marketing concepts, when all of a sudden it hit us! We could do a spoof of Tinder the hot new hookup app people are raving about!

If you aren’t familiar with Tinder, it’s a dating application you can download to your smart phone. Once you create an account you start receiving “matches” that you can either swipe right to “like” or left to “pass”. If you like someone and they like you back, it’s a match! You’ve made a connection for the night, or perhaps for a lifetime.

Moving Pictures

Once we had our initial idea, we were on a creative tangent! We talked about the type of media that would be most effective in grabbing the attention of the trendy urban types we were trying to attract. There is a growing trend toward the use of video in marketing and we thought that a short video for our promotion was the way to go. We decided a vid would allow us to take advantage of the graphic and interactive qualities of Tinder in a fun and artistic way. We’d use Instagram to post the video because it’s all about the visual on Instagram and we wanted to accentuate the visual impact of our Tinder takeoff.

It’s a Match

Once the concept and media were decided, all that was left was to turn it over to our design and tech team. I know I’m biased, but I think they did an amazing job creating a fun and innovative promotion for our clients! So now it’s up to you. What do you think; did we connect with our audience?

Buzz Update!

We’re sooo excited!! Our Tinder promotion for Sweet Nectar created such a buzz that it was featured in the Go River Walk magazine! You can check out the online issue here.
